- Where do you get this love for sneakers? / Desde cuando ese amor hacia las zapatillas?

My love of sneakers started with the Air Jordan 1 and it´s just grown and spread from there to include Air Force 1´s, Air Max´s , SB´s , Dunks , Blazers , Trainers , Hyperdunks and it´s not just Nike. I also wear Vans , DC , Bape , Puma , Reebok , Adidas , Converse , K – Swiss , Greedy Genius , Emerican , and even Wallabees. I find that my taste has changed with time and can only say that it seems to be a progression that just keeps envolving – and it hasn´t stopped yet. A fresh pair of hot J´s still makes my heart beat fast.
Mi amor por las zapas empezó con las Air Jordan 1 y de ahi creció y se extendió hasta incluir  Air Force 1’s, Air Max’s, SB’s, Dunks, Blazers, Trainers, Hyperdunks y no solo de Nike. También uso Vans, DC, Bape, Puma, Reebok, Adidas, Converse, K-Swiss, Greedy Genius, Emerica, e incluso Wallabees. Me parece que mi gusto ha cambiado con el tiempo y sólo puedo decir que parece ser una progresión que sólo sigue evolucionando – y no se ha detenido todavía. Un par nuevo de J,s calientes todavía hacen que mi corazón lata rápidamente.

- How many pairs do you have? / Cuantos pares tienes?

I have between 400 and 500 pairs
Tengo entre 400 y 500 pares.

- What type of collector would you consider yourself? / Que tipo de coleccionista te consideras?

I don´t consider myself a collector , I try and wear all of my sneakers. Don´t get me wrong I do have sneakers I still haven´t worn yet but with over 400 pairs it´s hard to wear everything. Living in Chicago we only get about 7 months a year of good weather that you can rock hot sneakers whitout snow and ice being on the ground.
No me considero coleccionista , yo cojo y me pongo todas mis zapatillas. No me malinterpretéis pero tengo zapas que todavía no he usado ,  con más de 400 pares es dificil calzarse todo. Viviendo en Chicago , nosotros solo tenemos 7 meses al año de buen tiempo en los que te puedes poner unas buenas bambas sin tener hielo o nieve en el suelo.

- What is more important to you—quality or quantity? / Que es más importante para ti . Calidad o cantidad?

Having quality/dope sneakers is more important to me than having a ton of junk.  In addition to quality, I think it’s important to buy what you like and wear what makes you feel good.  You don’t need to let other people influence or form your opinion for you.
Tener calidad/buenas zapas para mi es más importante que tener una tonelada de basura. Además de la calidad, creo que es importante comprar lo que uno quiera y vestir con lo que te hace sentir bien. No es necesario dejar que otras personas te influyan o formen una opinión para ti.

- Which sneakers are your absolute favorite? Do you own them? / Que zapatillas son tus favoritas? Las posees?

My favorite ol` school sneaker is the original Air Jordan 4 in the Playoff Black colorway, and most recently would be the Air Jordan 23 Titaniums (they’re so sexy), Paris Dunks, Playstation AF1s and the Sole Collector Las Vegas Dunk Highs are some of my favorites as well and yes I own all of them
Mis zapas oldschool favoritas son las  Air Jordan IV en el colorway negro Playoff  , y las más recientes serían las Air Jordan 23 Titanium ( Son muy sexys ) , Dunks Paris,  AF1’s Playstation y las de  Sole Collector, Las Vegas Dunk Highs son algunas de mis favoritas y si las tengo todas.

- Of the sneakers on the market now, which do you think stand out the most? Why? / De las zapas que hay ahora mismo en el mercado , cuales crees que son las que mas destacan? Porque?

Most recent standout sneakers of 2009 to me would be the Air  Yeezys, L.A.F. Livestrong FLOMS and the Livstrong Mr. Cartoons.  They’re just great looking, with a flowing artistic design to the  sneakers. In addition, they feel good on your foot.  They also  had a great deal of interest and hype surrounding them.  This  increased the difficulty in locating specific sizes and added to their  desirability.
Las zapas estrella del 2009 para mi serían las Air Yeezys, L.A.F Livestrong FLOMS y las Livestrong Mr.Cartoons. Son muy atractivas y con un diseño artistico que fluye en la zapa. Además sientan muy bien en el pie. Crearon un gran interés y el hype que les rodea , esto aumentó la dificultad de encontrar tallas especificas y esto hizo crecer el deseo a tenerlas.

- How do you view the sneaker scene in your country? / Como ves la escena sneaker en tu país?

I think resellers are ruining the game.  People who had no interest in sneakers now stand in line for days only to run home and put them on ebay the minute they get the sneakers. I also dislike the creative ways that SOME of the sneaker shops have turned to in releasing the most sought after sneakers (i.e. Raffles and auctions).  I do enjoy the camaraderie of the sneaker community though.  I’ve forged a lot of friendships all over the world through use of the sneaker forums as well as personally meeting fellow sneakerheads at various events.
Creo que los “resellers” están arruinando el juego. Gente que no tenia ningún interés en las zapas ahora están en la linea unos días para correr a casa para ponerlas en Ebay al minuto de conseguirlas. Tampoco me gusta los caminos creativos que están tomando algunas de las tiendas de calzado en las releases de zapatillas muy buscadas. Sin embargo disfruto con la camaradería de la comunidad sneaker. He forjado muchas amistades en todo el mundo a través del uso de foros de bambas , así como personalmente a sneakerheads en eventos.

- In today´s sneaker scene, what do you think there are too much of and what do you think it is lacking? / Actualmente en la escena sneaker , que crees que falta y que sobra?

I see a new sneaker released every couple of weeks: i.e. Jordans,  Forces, Runners, Trainers, SB’s, etc.; to the point that it’s over-kill.  Then you really need to ask yourself do we want quantity or DOPENESS…?  I don’t really find it to be lacking very much at all.  It may take a while, but sooner or later I can usually find what I’m looking for.  It just takes perseverence and of course,  money!!  The advent of the internet has truly opened the doors to world-wide sneaker hunting.  I’m no longer relegated to just the location I happen to be in at the time.
Veo releases de nuevas zapas todas las semanas : i.e . Jordans,  Forces, Runners, Trainers, SB’s, etc.; hasta el punto que lo están matando. Entonces tu necesitas preguntarte ¿ queremos cantidad o calidad? Para nada lo encuentro escaso. Habria que tomarse un tiempo , pero tarde o temprano , por lo general puedo encontrar lo que busco.  Sólo hace falta perseverancia y, por supuesto, el dinero! La llegada de Internet realmente ha abierto las puertas al mundo de la caza zapatillas. Ya no estoy relegado a la ubicación.

- What is the craziest thing you have done to get a pair of sneakers? / Cual es la mayor locura que has hecho para conseguir un par de zapas?

Well, it’s not very crazy, but I’ve flown across country more than once to get sneakers.
Bueno , no es mucha locura , pero he viajado a través del país mas de una vez para conseguir zapas.

- Do you usually go to the store on the day of the release to buy sneakers or wait until they are available on the Internet? / Normalmente vas a la tienda el día de la release para comprarte las zapas o esperas a que estén disponibles en Internet?

Well I’m kind of lucky sometimes, sneakers seem to find me, it all depends on the type of sneaker that’s releasing.   If it’s a General Release I’ll hit the shops on release morning.  If it’s something we won’t get, like a Tier Zero release than I’ll need to find it online.
Bueno , suelo tener suerte a veces , parece que las zapas me busquen , todo depende del tipo de zapa que se lance. Si es una release general , voy a golpear las tiendas en la mañana del lanzamiento. Si es algo que no puedo tener , como un release Tier Zero tendré que buscarlo online.

- What is your favorite memory involving sneakers (ex: a camp out the night before a release, etc.) / Cual es tu mejor recuerdo relacionado con las zapatillas ( ex : acampar por la noche fuera de una tienda para una release , etc )

My employer had just transferred me to a new building and with that came a new boss as well, this was back when Jordan sneakers released on weekdays.  I knew that my new boss wasn’t going to let me dip out to get the new J’s (O.G.Space Jams).   I thought about calling in that morning but already knew that wasn’t going to do it.   I decided I had to go to work but not until after the sneaker store had opened and I had my new Jordans safely tucked in the trunk of my car. I was the only guy standing in line wearing a uniform and steeltoed boots.  I made it to work,only about 5 hours late.
Mi trabajo me acababa de ser trasladado a un nuevo edificio con lo que llegó un nuevo jefe , esto fué cuando era la release de las Jordans entre semana. Yo sabia que mi nuevo jefe no iva a dejarme sali a conseguir mis nuevas J´s ( O.G. Space Jams ) . Pensé en llamarle esa mañana pero sabia que no tenia que hacerlo. Decidí ir a trabajar , pero no hasta después de ir a la tienda ,conseguir mis Jordans y dejarlas a buen recaudo en el maletero de mi coche. Yo era el único hombre en la cola de la release con uniforme y botas steeltoed. . Llegué al trabajo , pero con 5 horas de retraso.

- Finally, tell us whatever you would like, say hello to your mother, criticize the system, demand discounts from your shoe store in your neighborhood—anything goes! / Para finalizar , cuéntanos lo que tu quieras , saluda a tu madre , critica al sistema , pide descuentos en la tienda de tu barrio , todo vale!
