Ruddy is a french true sneakerhead, he is also known as Sunshinig7. This retro lover got his mind made up; collect Jordan, Jordan and more Jordan.. but specially OG pieces. Ruddy es un auténtico sneakerhead francés al que también se le conoce como Sunshining7. Este amante del retro tienen las ideas muy claras; coleccionar Jordan, Jordan y más Jordan…pero con la particularidad de que todos sus modelos son OG. Un vistazo a sus fotos y no podrás dejar de contemplarlas una y otra vez, su gusto estético, la calidad de sus modelos y el hecho de simplemente ver sus estanterías y retroceder 15 años en el tiempo cuando las zapatillas se concebían de un modo distinto hacen de Sunshining7 uno de los coleccionista AJ og más destacados de la escena.

- Where do you get this love for sneakers? / Desde cuando ese amor hacia las zapatillas?
Actually My love started with Jordan and slowly brought me into the sneaker game. It was in 1991 that Light came for me, during the playoffs between the Bulls and the Lakers, first year in France we got the NBA live on TV. This guy was Amazing as you all know, my room got covered of his posters thru the years until 1995, the year that I went to the US for study. The Jordan X came out and I bought all of them, in every single color. When I came back to France in 1997, I reunited about 40 pairs of Jordan and realized that I had a small collection going on. Then I met a guy known as “Edymalawi”, back then and probably still now, one of the top collectors in the World. His Jordan Collection was just unbelievable.
He is the one that really got me into this passion. Then I came across a picture on the net in the early 2000 of an AJ1 1985 line up, and decided that it was my path, and that I would own one day every single AJI, it is today…
En realidad mi amor empezó con Jordan y poco a poco me fue introduciendo en el sneaker game. Fue en 1991 cuando ví la luz, durante los playoff entre los Bulls y los Lakers, era el primer año que en Francia teníamos NBA en directo por la televisión. Este tio era increíble como todos sabéis, mi habitación estuvo empapelada con sus poster hasta 1995, el año en que me fui a estudiar a Estados Unidos. Salieron las Jordan X y me las compré todas, en cada uno de sus colorways. Cuando volví a Francia en 1997, había reunido alrededor de 40 pares de Jordan y me dí cuenta que poseía una pequeña colección en marcha. Entonces conocí a un tío llamado “Edymalawi”, que era entonces y probablemente ahora, uno de los mayores coleccionistas del mundo. Su colección Jordan era simplemente increíble.
El es uno de los que realmente me contagiaron esta pasión. Al tiempo topé con una foto por Internet, más o menos en el 2000, eran unas AJI del 85, y decidí que esa era la dirección que quería tomar. que quería tener todos los pares de AJ1, hasta hoy.

- How many pairs do you have? / Cuantos pares tienes?
I Only collect Air Jordan and own 137 pairs.
Solamente colecciono Jordan y poseo 137 pares.

-Where did you get them from? De dónde los sacas?
Mainly Ebay, friends, contacts from forum, and Japan.
Principalmente Ebay, amigos, contactos de los foros y Japón.

- What type of collector would you consider yourself? / Que tipo de coleccionista te consideras?
I would consider myself as an Original Air Jordan collector.
Me gusta considerarme a mi mismo como un coleccionista de Air Jordan OG.

- What is more important to you—quality or quantity? / Que es más importante para ti . Calidad o cantidad?
I believe Collectors change perspectives thru the years, and I came to the point where I Only buy shoes if there are dead stock with box, so definitely quality over quantity.
Creo que los coleccionistas cambian su perspectiva con los años, y personalmente he llegado a un punto en el que solo compro zapatillas si están en dead stock con caja, así que definitivamente calidad por encima de cantidad.

- Which sneakers are your absolute favorite? Do you own them? / Que zapatillas son tus favoritas? Las posees?
It is really hard to give you an absolute favorite, therefore the Air Jordan 5 is what got me to start collecting and my first love. Today I Only have eyes for the AJ1. I do own every single color of the AJ1 and AJ5 (OG).
Es realmente difícil darte una favorita, la Air Jordan 5 es por la que empecé a coleccionar y fue mi primer amor. Hoy solo tengo ojos para la AJ1. Tengo cada uno de los colores de todas las AJ1 y AJ5 OG.

- Which pair has been the hardest to get? / Qué par ha sido el más difícil de conseguir?
Most of the pairs are not so hard to find if you have the $$$$$, but at the right price, it is hard…
The one that releaved me was the AJI black Toe, I couldn’t get my hands on it, people selling them were asking 3,000 to 4,000 $ at the time.
Last year on a trip to Japan they were standing in a shop just waiting for me, and the price was unbeatable.
Muchos de los pares no son difíciles de conseguir si tienes los €€€€€€, pero a un buen precio, es difícil….
lo que me conmociono fueron las AJI black toe, no podia echarles el guante, la gente que las vendía, pedía 3000 o 4000 dólares.
El año pasado en un viaje a Japón estaban en una tienda esperándome, y el precio era inmejorable.

- What’s your opinion about the new releases from “Jordan Brand” ? / Cual es tu opinión acerca de los nuevos modelos “Jordan Brand” ?
Too commercial, no creation/imagination, and very low quality material used, but I still bought couple pairs (AJIII AJV and AJVI)
Demasiado comercial, no hay creación/imaginación, y muy mala calidad en los materiales utilizados, pero sigo comprando pares (AJIII, AJV y AJVI)

- What you think about the AJ fusions? / Qué opinión te merecen las AJ fusions ?
A waste of time, I would see it better on a nike ID website but not in shops !
Una pérdida de tiempo, me gustaría más verlas en la web de Nike ID pero no en las tiendas!

- Of the sneakers on the market now, which do you think stand out the most? Why? / De las zapas que hay ahora mismo en el mercado , cuales crees que son las que mas destacan? Porqué?
I do not have any interest for the new generation of shoes being developed, and even less for the retro. It is killing in my eyes the beauty of our original shoes. So for me, the market is using old shoe success and does not create anymore which doesn’t bring anything on the table.
No tengo ningun tipo de interés por la nueva generación de zapatillas que se esta fabricando, y menos aún por lo “retro”. Están destrozando la belleza de los modelos OG. Así que en mi opinión, el mercado está usando el éxito de los viejos modelos y no aporta nada nuevo.
- How do you view the sneaker scene in your country? / Cómo ves la escena sneaker en tu país?
Originally from France, the market there is very quiet, and I do not see it as a leader in any aspect of the sneaker scene.
Originariamente desde Francia, el mercado está muy parado, y no lo veo como lider in ningun aspecto de la escena sneaker.

- In today´s sneaker scene, what do you think there are too much of and what do you think it is lacking? / Actualmente en la escena sneaker , que crees que falta y que sobra?
The market is now full of retro’s which doesn’t bring much to the game, and it definitely lacks of new developments.
En el mercado ahora mismo hay muchas “retro” que no aportan nada, y hay una carencia en nuevos aportes.

- What is the craziest thing you have done to get a pair of sneakers? / Cual es la mayor locura que has hecho para conseguir un par de zapatillas?
I went to Japan for a Hunt…
Fui a Japón de “Hunt”…

- Do you usually go to the store on the day of the release to buy sneakers or wait until they are available on the Internet? / Normalmente vas a la tienda el día de la release para comprarte las zapas o esperas a que estén disponibles en Internet?
I respect those who do, but as I Only collect original shoes, I do not rush to stores, and I wait patiently home…
Respeto a quines lo hacen, pero como solo colecciono modelos OG no me apresuro a ir a las tiendas y espero pacientemente en casa…

- What is your favorite memory involving sneakers (ex: a camp out the night before a release, etc.) / Cual es tu mejor recuerdo relacionado con las zapatillas ( ex : acampar por la noche fuera de una tienda para una release , etc )
As I was Reading the question, 2 moments popped up in my mind :
1/ the day I went to Japan and finally got the “Black Toe” AJI from 1985. The pair was just standing on the shelf of a store, and I couldn’t believe it.
2/ The day that I picked up an AJI from 1985 in Metallic purple, the pair was immaculate, and from my knowledge there isn’t a pair like this in the World.
Mientras leía la pregunta 2 momentos han venido a mi cabeza:
1/ el dia que fui a Japon y por fín tuve las AJI og black toe. La zapatilla estaba colocada encima del estante de una tienda , no me lo podía creer.
2/ el día que  pillé unas AJI og de 1985 en lila metálico, el par estaba inmaculado, y que yo sepa no hay ningún par como este en el mundo.
